A Revs Revolution

I'm glad to know Bob Kraft wears torn up jeans too.

The Globe has an interesting interview with Bob Kraft on the Revolution, and the potential for the World Cup to return to the US. Also interesting, the call for a changing of the guard from commenter friendlygolden.

Now all we have to do is convince the Krafts to sell out the Revs…and allow a real soccer owner to move the team to Harvard Stadium……or to a venue much closer to the city and much more suited to futbol. I love soccer…but I hate driving to Foxboro and I hate the stadium.

What’s our best option to force the Krafts to sell the Revs? Answer: boycott Patriot Place so the Krafts are forced to raise capital to cover their ill conceived real estate development gamble in Foxboro. Boycott Patriot Place….don’t even buy a piece of gum there.

We need the Revs in Boston….play at Harvard Stadium until we can build a real soccer specific facility. Team up with the Boston Breakers and the Boston Cannons.

The sooner the Revs are owned by a real soccer family the better….we don’t need the Krafts.

It’s highly unlikely that a Patriot Place boycott would ever be effective at exerting the financial pressure the commenter seems to think it would, but the rest is an interesting thought exercise. Move the Revs to Allston.

I would definitely go to tons of Revs games if they were in the city. I think the idea of a Revs stadium in Somerville is fantastic, as is the idea of having them play at Harvard Stadium in the interim. As it is now, though, Foxboro is just too far away.
