Allston Amps?

I’ve never noticed Allston Amps before today. Anyone know who makes these? Presumably it’s local since (beyond the name) they don’t seem to be for sale anywhere other than Mr. Music. Quite colorful, at very least.

Allston Amps are Rob Lohr’s creations made right here in Allston. This is the end product after a lifetime of amp modifications to the who’s who of touring bands. Finding this amp is like traveling the world looking for the perfect lady only to come home and realize she lived next door. I love sound toys and Rob’s amp is the one I wouldn’t part with. Just played the blue allston head at mr. music – love it – my vox may be going up on craigs this week to make room for it – love that place – everyone that works there is a great help and super knowledgeable.

I’ve played all of them. Really good sounding amps. Hoping tax return will get me the mandarin. Anybody have his contact info?

I purchased an Allston amp today at Mr. Music in Allston. I love going into that music store more than any other. I was told about the Allston amp line from one of the employees. I had previously been schooled on what a real boutique amp has to have, and more importantly what it shouldn’t have. I own and operate a music production studio, and wanted a boutique amp to record with. I was looking for a 6 or 8 inch speaker in a 5 watt amp. The Allston amp I picked had an 8 inch speaker and is a 5 watt amp. I recorded with it as soon as I got back with it, and you know what, I am amazed! I actually LOVE this amp already. we have bonded and I named her Al. More importantly the serial # on the amp says that it is #1! That means a lot to me, and in the future it will mean a lot to you.
