Apparently there was some violence last weekend at the Sound Museum after a security guard spotted some intruders on the close circuit. 7PM on a Saturday is a curious time for this kind of antisocial BS.

On their search, the owner and security guard heard noise coming from the second floor bathroom and entered to find one of the partitions torn from its position and thrown on the floor. The owner and security guard exited the bathroom where the suspects in the second floor hallway confronted them.

At that time, [James Brian] McCloud allegedly grabbed the security guard’s three-foot wooden club and began beating him about the head with it while [Ian Mark] Champion allegedly punched him in the head and upper torso.

The owner told police that both suspects took turns beating the victim with the club and at one point placed the club on the victim’s neck attempting to chock him.

Jenny Thompson attacked by scooter thieving thugs, on the very nice Verndale St. (just south of the Brookline/Allston line).

According to a police report, “two dark-skinned black males, approximately 5’7″” got out of the car and approached Thompson. “I didn’t register what was going on and I said ‘Your lights are out.’ And the guy was like , ‘What about your lights?’ and proceeded to punch me in the face… then pushed me down and tried to take my scooter,” explained Thompson. “I fought them off and was screaming at the top of my lungs and people came out of the houses.”

Running a probation check, police learned that the owner, Sonny Bimbo, has 14 different aliases and has 157 arraignments and has previously served jail time. A search warrant of his residence at 91 Glenville Ave. reportedly yielded several checkbooks, keys and prescription medications with different names on them, assorted jewelry and broken jewelry and burglarious tools, among other items, such as a wood paddle, a TV remote, black headphones, a key chain, Zippo lighters and a booklet called “Big Dice Game,” which were all returned to victims.

A search pulls up this misdirected posting for Sonny’s Handy-man Services from the Brighton (UK) craigslist page (from May 10th). Apparently Sonny can get you a great deal on slightly used stuff, or fence your “own” stuff for a nominal 50%.

The victim sustained severe facial injuries including a broken eye socket, a dislocated shoulder and multiple scrapes and bruises from the assault.

Two were arrested, both of whom seem a little old for this sort of ridiculousness.

Michael D. McIver, 31, of Littleton and Steven R. Kainnard, 30, of Allston, were charged with assault and battery and battery by means of a dangerous weapon, police say.

Thanks to the motorist who flagged down the cops and indicated which direction the suspects were headed.

The suspect said he defended himself by punching the victim in the face. The victim told police he got into a heated argument with the suspect about the Bruins and Philadelphia Flyers hockey teams and, during the argument, it “escalated into something more.”

When asked what “something more” meant, the victim said the suspect repeatedly punched him in the face and nose. The officer noticed the victim had injuries on his nose and face as well as several chipped teeth.

BU Today has a profile of Timothy McHugh who intervened in a late-night domestic violence situation in Allston last year, getting himself punched and earning an ROTC Medal for Heroism in the process. The Globe says the attacker got off fairly lightly.

Police arrived seconds after the punch was thrown and arrested the husband, who in a plea deal with prosecutors later agreed to nine months probation and counseling.

So thanks Tim, for involving yourself. And yeah, it shouldn’t really have to be said, but if you see someone getting beat up, call 911.

The father of a sexual assault victim in Allston chased the culprit down the street early yesterday morning, fighting off a broomstick attack, and eventually apprehended him, according to court records.

The father of the unidentified 20-year-old woman was able to hold the suspect down until police arrived, resulting in an arrest.

Rigoberto Reyes, 25, of Allston was arraigned in Brighton Municipal Court on charges of unarmed breaking and entering, assault with intent to rape, and assault with a dangerous weapon (the broom). He was ordered held in lieu of $500,000 cash bail by Judge David T. Donnelly. Prosecutors said Reyes is wanted by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, though they did not elaborate.

According to court records, the victim awoke just before 3 a.m. to find Reyes standing at the foot of her bed. She screamed, and Reyes allegedly said, “I’m sorry, I’m sorry,’’ before fleeing, according to court records.

While I’m sitting around waiting for the commencement Easter grilling plans, I’ve wanted to link to this thread on UH for the last few days, in part due to this fascinating (pot/kettle black?) comment from Jeff at the Dig. Three of the locations listed in the sex trafficking indictment (PDF) are in Allston, two within a single block on Commonwealth (between the Harvard Ave and the CVS west of there), with another over on Barrows St (with a backyard adjacent to Jackson Mann).

It’s worth noting that this incident is different than the last such incident in that there are charges here pertaining to trafficking and forced labor. It’s still important to make a moral discrimination between these two types of behaviors, self-chosen sex work and modern sex slavery. The law agrees with this distinction, with the maximum penalties for this being quite serious.

If convicted, defendants Wei and Jing Liang Chen face a maximum sentence of life in prison on the Sex Trafficking charge, 20 years in prison on the Forced Labor charges and 10 years on the Harboring charge.

Last night around 11:58PM, officers from District D-14 (Allston) responded to the area of 7 Mansfield St. for a male that was assaulted. While en route, officers were advised that someone had been stabbed.
On arrival, officers observed a male victim lying on the ground suffering from apparent stab wounds. The victim was transported to the Beth Israel Hospital where he was pronounced.

Most amusing (other than that the alleged perp was ID’d through Facebook) is that the huge bong being lifted below at 0:21 is named “Frankenstein”. It’s a monster. From Wicked Local-

Lawton said once he discovered who the individual was — Michael A. McDonald Jr., 17, of 96 Hamilton St. in Saugus — he went on Facebook and crossed-checked the image from the video with images from the suspect’s profile, which was public. He said the teen’s tattoos on his neck were the best incriminating factor in identifying the suspect. Because one of the other suspects cut his finger entering the store, police also have DNA evidence on a second suspect.

“It was too easy to catch these fools,” Lawton said.

Under the pressure from the community and the police, the Saugus teen allegedly confessed his involvement in the crime and returned the Frankenstein tube. He was arraigned earlier this week and is charged in Brighton District Court with breaking and entering, willful and malicious destruction to property and larceny over $250, but Lawton said he hopes to press the district attorney for a charge of grand larceny over $10,000.
