Update on the (most recent) Kells stabbing

Adam has lots of details on yesterday’s stabbing incident. Particularly interesting, the foiled escape attempt.

Tresler said the car, with three other people inside, then took off – and promptly got stuck in a traffic jam, caused in part by responding police cruisers. Patterson, he said, was ordered out of the car and to surrender the knife. But even with officers holding their guns out, he refused, Tresler said. It took three police officers and “a violent struggle” to subdue the punching and kicking Patterson, Tressler said.

Also interesting, this anonymous take from a purported witness (and predictable “yet you did nothing OMG!!1Z” reply). The more information that comes out on this, the less random it seems.

(also, while it’s true that nobody likes the Brewers, the arrestee is an entirely different Corey Patterson).

UPDATE (on update): Victim’s name released.

Gregory A. Phillips was stabbed once in the heart while he and a group of friends argued – first verbally and then physically – with a second group of people after leaving The Kells, Suffolk Assistant District Attorney Paul Treseler said in court today.
